Using the Advanced Search in admation
Admation's projects, ad storage and asset library each have powerful filter and sort functions available for you to use.
Where your admation portal has hundreds, if not thousands of projects or assets, it might be helpful to use our advanced search to effectively filter through your jobs. You can conduct a regular search by simply typing in the field. Simply typing in the field returns partial match results – or a range of criteria that closely matches your search query.
Where you need your search results need further refinements, you can use the advance search options instead. This guide focuses on the advanced search options available to you when using the text-search fields.
How does the Advanced Search Work?
You can use the advanced search under any Filter button which filters a blank textbox for you to write in. These are commonly found on the top left of your screen when under your Projects, Asset Library or Ad Storage.
To use the advanced search, you'll need to add a range of markers or "+symbols" around your search query to refine and narrow down your search (particularly if you have hundreds of projects or projects already in admation)!
Note that this process can be a bit technical, so make sure that you take note of the different advanced search options available for you to use, as detailed below.
Searching for Items that Include Many Specific Words
If you want to search for items that include many specific words, you can use the plus symbol + in your search. For example:
- adding +apple +banana would find jobs that contain both the words apple and banana.
Searching for Items that Exclude Many Specific Words
You can use the minus or hyphen symbol - in your search to exclude specific words from your search. For example:
- typing -apple would find all jobs that do not contain the word apple.
In that case, by mixing these two concepts together:
- typing +banana -apple would find all jobs or assets that include the word banana, but don't include the word apple.
Finding Specific Phrases in admation
This specific search option is something that people might often use when browsing through and narrowing down the results in Google as well!
When looking to find specific phrases in admation, you can use "quotation marks around the phrase" to search for that exact phrase.
