Manually Logging Time Against a Task

Admation provides you with the ability to better manager your time at work. Under the tasks tab, you can view tasks and manually or retrospectively log time against tasks that have been assigned to you. This guide details the manual – or stopwatch – approach to logging time.

To start, click the Tasks tab at the top of the screen. You can manually log time against a task from either the Task List or Calendar views on this page. From either view, click on the task you’d like to work on under your task list. To log time against a task while you work on it, click the Start Work button.

Click the See Timer link to see the length of time that has passed since you started working on the task. From this same screen, you can also Hide Timer to toggle accordingly. You'll also notice that because you're currently working on this specific task, admation now shows this timer icon . 

Once you have stopped working on the task, click the Stop Work button.

This stops recording the time you’ve used to work on this task. To log this time against your task, click the Add to time log button. 

Then review the time you’ve entered into the system. You may edit the time if you wish to round up or down, for example. You may also delete the logged time altogether by clicking this Rubbish bin icon . Click Done. If the task is complete, then Mark it as complete  using the checkbox at the bottom left hand side of the window.

Sometimes an estimate is given to a task, showing the number of hours your task should take to complete. If you are close to reaching or have exceeded that estimated time and haven't marked the task as complete, admation may ask you for a new task estimate which you can enter before saving your changes.

Then click Save Changes again once you're happy with your inputs. 

You’ll be able to view your logged hours along the right hand side of the screen, as indicated by a green bar that fills as you edge closer to your estimated number of hours provided for you to complete the task. 

If you’ve forgotten to time your work as you go, you can also log time retrospectively into the system.
